When the growth rate is given

Increase in value = P* R*N

P is the principle or original value.

R is the growth rate.

N is the period.
Growth factor is calculating by dividing the increased value by original value

Growth factor = `("increased value" / "original value")`

Growth factor is always positive value not the negative one.

I have recently faced lot of problem while learning Homogeneous Differential Equation, But thank to online resources of math which helped me to learn myself easily on net.

Model problems to growth factor for math:


Problem: 1

What is the growth factor of the original value $4500 over a period of 7 years with the growth rate of 6%.

Solution:

The original value is $4500

Period of timing, N = 7 years

Growth rate, R= 6%

The increase value is `(4500*7*(6/100))`

=(45*7*6)

= 1890

The increased value is $6390

Now we have to calculate the growth factor:

Growth factor = `("increased value" / "original value")`

= `(6390/4500)`

= 1.424

The growth factor is 1.42

Problem: 2

What is the growth factor of the original value $300 over a period of 9 years with the growth rate of 16%.

Solution:

The original value is $300

Period of time = 9 years

Growth rate is 16%

The increase value is `(300*9*(16/100))`

(3*9*16)

= 432

The increased value is $432

Now we have to calculate the growth factor:

Growth factor = `("increased value" /"original value")`

= `(732/300)`

= 2.44

The growth factor is 2.44

Problem: 3 what is the growth factor between these numbers behind the numbers 4, 16, 64, 256, and 1024

Solution:

To find the growth, we have to divide the next number by present number

(16/4) = 4
(64/16) =4
(256/ 64)= 4
(1024/256)=4


The growth factors of these numbers are 4

The growth factor between the given numbers is 4
