Composite number n is a
+ve (positive integer) for n>1 which is not a prime. In simple words
composite number is not a prime number and which has factors other than 1 and
itself.

Prime and Composite Numbers:
A prime and composite numbers are two different numbers in which prime can only be divided by 1
and itself. Where as Composite number can be divided by any numbers other than
1 or itself. Or the number which is not prime is composite number.
Example:
Is 5 a prime and
composite?
1 x 5 = 5
7 can only divided with
1 and 7. So 7 is a prime number.
Is 6 a composite or a
prime?
1 x 6 = 6
2 x 3 = 6
6 can be divided with 1
and 6 and also with 2 and 3. So 6 is a composite number.
Note: Any whole number
greater than 1 is a prime or composite.

divided both. It is used to find the lowest common denominator when adding or
subtracting fractions.

Prime factors of given
numbers are:
5=5x1
10=5x2
20=5x4
=5x2x2
Multiples of 5, 10, 20
are:
5x1x5x2x5x2x2
LCM of 5, 10, 20 are: 20
2) Find the prime
factors of composite number 24.
8 x 3 = 24 product of 8
and 3 gives out 24.
We can also write it as
(2 x 4) x 3 = 24
2 x (2 x 2) x 3 =
24
(2 x 2 x 2) x 3 =
24
