Tenth Grade Level Math

Introduction to tenth grade math level:

Tenth grade math level consists of a set of problems in the following topics such as algebra, Linear algebra, calculus, pre-calculus, trigonometry, geometry etc. All these topics are discussed in tenth grade level math. Here we are going to discuss about some of the examples problems in Tenth grade math level. The example problems with detailed solutions are described  below for tenth grade students.

Tenth Grade Math Level Example Problem:

Example 1:

Reduce the equation.

√(3 d + 1) = d - 3

Solution:

Given equation is
√ (3 d + 1) = d - 3

Squaring on both sides, then the above equation becomes
[√ (3 d + 1)] 2 = (d - 3) 2

Simplify the above equation
3 d + 1 = d 2 - 6 d + 9

Write the above equation in factor form.
d 2 - 9 d + 8 = 0

The above quadratic form has 2 solutions
d = 8 and d = 1

Example 2:

Reduce the linear expression.

-2(d - 3) – 4d - 1 = 3(d + 4) - d

Solution:

Given expression is
-2(d - 3) – 4d - 1 = 3(d + 4) - d

Multiplying the integer terms
-2d + 6 – 4d - 1 = 3d + 12 - d

Grouping the above terms
-6d + 5 = 2d + 12

Subtract 5 on both sides
-6d + 5 - 5 = 2d + 12 -5

Grouping the above terms
-6d = 2d + 7

Subtract 2d on both sides
-6d – 2d = 2d + 7 -2d

Grouping the above terms
-8d = 7

Multiply -`1/8` on both sides
d = - `7/8`

d = - `7/8` is the solution.

Example 3:

Solve the algebraic function.

f(z) = z2 – 5z + 8

Solution:

The given function is

f(z) = z 2 – 5z + 8

Differentiate the above equation

f '(z) = 2 z  – 5 is the solution.

Tenth Grade Math Level Practice Problems:

1) Solve the equation.

u 2 + 64 = 0

Answer: u= ±3 I is the solution.

2)  Solve the expression

-u 2 + 2u = -3

Answer: u= -1, 3 is the solution.
