Introduction to solve median value:

If there is an even  of observations, then there is no single middle value; the median is then defined to be the mean of the two middle values

First we have to arrange the given set of values in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set of values is 10,12,34,36,65

Here, the given set is odd. So we have to pick out the middle.

Therefore, the median of the set of values is 34

Example:2 Solve median for the given set of values 12,23,54,22,56

Solution:

First we have to arrange the given set in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set of values is 12,22,23,54,56

Here, the given set is odd. So we have to pick out the middle.

Therefore, the median of the given set of values is 23

Example:3 Solve median for the given set of values  8,5,12,4,9,11

Solution:

First we have to arrange the given set of values in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set of values is 4,5,8,9,11,12

Here, the given set of values is even.

So we have to pick out the middle of two s and we have to Solve average or mean of those values.

Therefore, the median of the set of values is  `(8+9)/2`   =   `17/5`   = 8.5

Example:4 Solve median for the given set of values   9,12,34,76,87,66

Solution:

First we have to arrange the given set of values in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set of values is 9,12,34,66,76,87

Here, the given set is even.

So we have to pick out the middle of two s and we have to Solve average or mean of those values.

Therefore, the median of the set of values is `(34+66)/2 = 97/2 =` `48.5`
