Median Equation

Introduction for median equation:
The median of the given list of data set will be found by sorting all elements of the data set from least to greatest and taking out the middle element. If the given list of data is in even, there will no single middle number; so we have to take out the two middle numbers and find the mean of these numbers.

Example for Median Equation:

Example 1 for median equation:

Calculate median for the given data set 100,21,36,6,82.

Solution:

First we have to sort the given data set in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set is 6,21,36,82,100

Here, the given data set is odd. So we have to take out the middle.

Therefore, the median of the set is 36.

Example 2 for median equation:

Calculate median for the given data set 34, 13, 45, 91, 65.

Solution:

First we have to sort the given data set in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set is 13, 34, 45, 65, 91.

Here, the given data set is odd. So we have to take out the middle.

Therefore, the median of the given set is 45.

Example 3 for median equation:

Calculate median for the given set 64, 69, 23, 95, 92, 85.

Solution:

First we have to sort the given data set in ascending order.

The ordered list of given set is 23, 64, 69, 85, 92, 95.

Here, the given data set is even.

So we have to take out the middle of two numbers and we have to find average or mean of those numbers.

Therefore, the median of the set is `(69+85)/2` = 77.

Example 4 for median equation:

Calculate median for the given data set 18, 53, 55, 28, 57, 69.
Solution:

First we have to sort the given data set in ascending order.

The ordered list of given date set is 18, 28, 53, 55, 57, 69.

Here, the given data set is even.

So we have to take out the middle of two numbers and we have to find average or mean of those numbers.
